Professional machine polishing to remove swirl marks, scratches, oxidation, and water spots. Restore your paint to showroom condition or prepare it for ceramic coating.
Paint correction is machine polishing that removes defects from your vehicle's clear coat — swirl marks from automatic car washes, light scratches from improper washing technique, oxidation from UV exposure, and water spots etched into the surface. At Ultimate Detail & Rust Check in Bowmanville, we offer single stage correction for light to moderate defect removal and dual stage correction for more significant paint damage.
Paint correction is also the mandatory first step before ceramic coating. Applying ceramic over imperfect paint seals those imperfections in permanently. Correction first ensures the coating is protecting paint that is actually in good condition. We inspect every vehicle before confirming the right service and give an honest assessment of what level of correction will achieve your goals.

Correction + Ceramic Coating
The complete paint restoration and protection package
Correction removes the defects. Ceramic coating seals in the results and protects them for 3–5 years. Doing both at the same time is the most cost-effective way to get paint that looks perfect and stays protected long-term.
Small Car / Sedan
$650–$850
SUV / Minivan
$800–$1,050
Truck
$950–$1,250
All correction + ceramic packages are quoted after vehicle inspection. Price depends on paint condition, vehicle size, and level of correction required.
Paint correction removes defects that live within the clear coat layer — swirl marks, light scratches, water spot etching, oxidation, and buffer trails. It cannot fill deep scratches that penetrate through the clear coat into base coat or primer.
Do I need single stage or dual stage?
Single stage is right for vehicles with light to moderate swirling and minor scratches — typical of a daily driver. Dual stage is recommended when defects are more severe or when you are applying ceramic coating after and want the best possible result.
How long does the correction take?
Single stage takes 3–4.5 hours. Dual stage takes 4–5.5 hours. Add ceramic coating and the vehicle stays overnight for the 24-hour cure. We will give you a specific time estimate when you book.
Can you correct any colour?
Yes, but darker colours — black, dark grey, navy, dark green — show swirl marks more clearly and typically require more correction time. Lighter colours are more forgiving. We inspect the paint condition before confirming scope.
