That second step is included free with every full Rust Check, which is not the industry norm.

The access holes, the grommets, and why it happens once

Reaching the inside of a rocker panel or a door cavity means getting a spray wand in there. Many vehicles have factory drains and openings we can use. Where they do not, small access holes get drilled in specific spots chosen because they open into the cavity without touching anything structural or electrical, and every one of them gets plugged with a rubber grommet before the vehicle leaves. Those grommets are the point: we pull them out and reuse the same holes on every annual visit, so the drilling happens once in the life of the vehicle rather than every year. There is a one-time drill charge the first time and never again after that.

  2. Penetrating drip application: The Rust Check oil gets sprayed into every body cavity, seam, joint, and hidden pocket. It creeps the way water does, reaching everywhere salt and moisture would otherwise reach. Expect light dripping for one to three days after the application.
  3. Coat & Protect undercoat: Our dripless oil-based undercoat goes onto the exposed undercarriage: frame rails, crossmembers, suspension components, fuel and brake lines, and floor pans. Stays wet, never cracks, included free with every Rust Check.
  4. Final check and grommet plugging: Every drilled access hole gets plugged with a rubber grommet. We re-use these holes during your annual visit, so they only need to be drilled once. Vehicle is wiped down and ready to drive.

Does drilling affect the factory warranty or resale?
The holes are small, plugged, and in places that are not visible in normal use. A documented annual rust proofing history is generally an asset at resale rather than a liability, and buyers in Ontario tend to ask about it.
Is Rust Check worth it on a new vehicle?
Starting protection early gives the best long-term results. New vehicles come from the factory with some rust protection, but it does not reach every cavity and it wears off over time.
