Our shop on Baseline Rd E is the closest licensed Rust Check dealer to Courtice, so annual rust protection does not have to be a project. If the drive does not fit your week, we run valet pickup and drop off across Courtice: we come get the vehicle, do the work at the shop, and bring it back.
Courtice roads connect directly to both Highway 2 and the 401, meaning vehicles here face constant salt exposure through winter. There is no Rust Check dealer in Courtice itself, so most Courtice residents either drive to us in Bowmanville or go all the way to Oshawa. At 8 minutes door-to-door, we are the obvious choice. Our two-step process combines penetrating drip formula for hidden cavities with dripless Coat & Protect undercoat for exposed surfaces. Dripless undercoat is included at no extra charge with every application.
From Courtice, the fastest route is Highway 2 (King St) East for about 8 minutes. The most direct route is Courtice Rd north until it connects to Baseline Rd, then east past Liberty Street to our shop at 161 Baseline Rd E.
Courtice sits on the 401 corridor with Highway 2 running through the middle of town. Both get heavy salt and brine treatment from late November through March, and Clarington runs municipal salt on every neighborhood street. Salt finds its way into every cavity a vehicle has: door bottoms, rocker panels, frame rails, suspension components, wheel wells, and floor pans. Modern factory rust protection is better than it used to be, but it does not reach the hidden cavities where corrosion actually starts. Courtice family vehicles and commuter cars running the 401 daily are exactly the use case Rust Check was designed for. Courtice also keeps adding subdivisions, and a lot of what comes to us from there now is a vehicle bought new in the last year or two. That is the best time to start. There is nothing to seal in yet, so the oil goes into clean cavities and every winter after that is easier. Waiting until you can see rust means we are working around damage that has already started.
Courtice has no licensed Rust Check dealer of its own. Residents either drive 8 minutes east to us in Bowmanville or 15 to 20 minutes west to Oshawa. We are the closer option for almost every Courtice address, and we are the only shop in eastern Durham that does Rust Check, full detail, ceramic coating, and paint correction under one roof. Many Courtice customers book a fall Rust Check together with a wash and wax to remove summer buildup before winter hits.
Every Rust Check here is two services in one, and both products are oils. The first is a creeping rust inhibitor, a thin penetrating formula sprayed into door cavities, rocker panels, pinch welds and frame seams through factory drains and small access holes. It creeps the way water and salt do, displacing moisture and leaving an oil film in the places rust actually starts. The second is Coat & Protect, a thick oil-based undercoat across the exposed underbody, which stays flexible instead of cracking. That second step is included free with every full Rust Check, which is not the industry norm.
Rust does not usually start where you can see it. It starts in the places that stay wet: the inside of rocker panels, the bottom few inches of door skins below the drain holes, wheel arch lips where the fold traps grit, pinch welds along the underside, the seams where two panels are joined, and the pockets around the subframe and suspension mounts. By the time a bubble shows through paint on the outside, the metal behind it has usually been going for a while. That is the whole logic of an oil-based treatment: a thin creeping formula gets into those cavities and seams through drains and access holes and coats the inside surfaces, which is where the problem is, rather than only the underside you can see.
Rubberized undercoatings are common at dealerships and quick-service shops because they look clean and uniform when first applied. The problem is they crack in Canadian temperature extremes and trap moisture against the metal underneath, which can accelerate corrosion instead of preventing it. Our oil-based Coat & Protect undercoat never fully dries, stays in continuous contact with the metal, and self-heals minor damage. It will not crack, peel, or chip. We do not offer rubberized undercoating because we have spent fifteen years watching what it does to vehicles in Ontario.

We recently had our Buick interior detailed and a rust check undercoating completed and we are more than pleased with the service. For a small fee, they even picked up the SUV and brought it back. Staff are very pleasant to deal with. Excellent service!
