Hyundai galvanized panels hold up well on the visible body but rust still starts on the cavity side: inside doors, inside rocker panels, inside rear quarters, and around the rear hatch lower lip or trunk lid edge. Galvanizing does not cover those internal seams. Step 1 penetrating oil is what reaches them. Galvanized panels are not a substitute for cavity protection.
